Hamilton wins Chinese GP, Ricciardo fourth

Lewis Hamilton headed a Mercedes one-two at the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday, while Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished fourth.

It was Hamilton’s third straight victory for the first time in his career and underlined the German team’s dominance.

The British former world champion got away smoothly from pole position and finished 19 seconds ahead of his teammate Nico Rosberg, with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso third.

Ricciardo was a massive 26.978sec behind Hamilton but well ahead of his Red Bull teammate Sebastian Vettel, who was fifth just over 51sec behind the winner.

Vettel, who had a strained relationship with his previous teammate – Australian Mark Webber – appeared set to earn the ire of his Red Bull bosses when a team order to let Ricciardo past was met with Vettel’s response: “Tough luck”.
