Grosjean handed 20-place F1 grid penalty

Frenchman Romain Grosjean was handed a punishment to remember on Friday when he was given a 20-place grid penalty for this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Grosjean, who this week confirmed he would stay with Lotus in 2015, was given the extraordinary sanction for exceeding the permitted number of power units by taking his sixth this season.

New Formula One rules introduced this season limit drivers to five engines, down from eight in 2013.
