V8 Supercar fans can expect few surprises in 2015, with the racing schedule to remain largely unchanged from this season.
All 14 championship events will keep their place on next year’s calendar, released on Friday, with only a few tweaks to dates.
The Auckland 500 – the season’s only international round – has been shifted from April to November, while races in Perth and Winton will switch places in April and May.
V8 Supercars has decided to continue with its SuperSprint format across eight events, which includes two 100km races on Saturday and a longer 200km on Sunday.
Next year’s round in Townsville, however, will return to its original format of only two 200km fixtures over the weekend.
Both the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide and season-ending Sydney 500 will retain their two 125km daytime races on Saturday.
“Our research shows that the existing formats have been highly successful,” V8 Supercars chief executive James Warburton said in statement.
“The emphasis was on improving the racing product, and giving drivers the opportunity to attack at all times without external factors preventing them from being aggressive.”
The season begins with a test day at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 7-8, which clashes with the 2015 Bathurst 12-Hour.
V8 Supercars will again run a non-championship event at the Australian Formula One Grand Prix at Albert Park.
