Championship leader Fernando Alonso of Ferrari won his third race of the season in the German grand prix in Hockenheim on Sunday.

The Spanish two-time world champion crossed the line ahead of Red Bull’s defending world champion Sebastian Vettel of Germany, who snatched second place from third-placed Briton Jenson Button of McLaren.

For pole-sitter Alonso it was his 30th Formula One victory, and third this season after the Malaysian and European grands prix.

Australia’s Mark Webber finished in eighth place.
