The only three year old to contest the Sydney Cup 2014 is the Darley owned and Peter Snowden trained Tupac Amaru who’s odds have been specked at a double figure quote at Sportsbet.
Tupac Amaru is coming out of the Australian Derby which was run on Saturday when running second behind Criterion and Peter feels he will get better over the longer distance in the Sydney Cup.
Although handicapper Greg Carpenter thinks the 3yo is poorly weighted in the race:

But despite being poorly weighted punters have continued to come for the son of Street Cry seeing his odds shorten from $13 into $12 with online bookmaker Sportsbet who is a notable producer of stayers with his most well known son ‘Shocking’ winning the Melbourne Cup over the same distance as the Sydney Cup (3200m).
