News:

Holler will return to Australia from England to be prepared for a spring campaign with trainer John O’Shea ruling out a tilt at the July Cup.

The colt finished seventh, 5-1/2 lengths behind the winner Twilight Son, in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on Saturday.

O’Shea said Holler had come through the race well and his first experience of straight racing should stand him in good stead.

“He’s come out of the race well, but he’ll have a break now, and we will get him ready for the big races in the spring at home,” O’Shea said.

“The race that springs to mind is the Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley (on Oct 21). He loves the Valley, and has run some big races there.

“But having said that, I believe he has benefited from his race up the straight at Ascot. He will have learned a lot.”

Some of Australia’s biggest sprints are run on the straight course at Flemington including the Darley Classic in the spring and the Lightning Stakes and Newmarket Handicap in autumn.
