Racing NSW gets new deputy chief steward

Philip Dingwall is to return to the Racing NSW stewards’ panel as deputy to Marc Van Gestel.

Dingwall was a steward with Racing NSW from 1995 to 2003 before taking up a position as chairman of stewards with the Malayan Racing Association.

He then spent 10 years as a steward with the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Van Gestel took over from the recently retired Ray Murrihy as chairman of stewards in NSW.

Dingwall will begin his new job at Saturday’s Rosehill meeting.
