On the same day Terravista announced himself as a world class sprinter, his younger sibling Ball Of Muscle stamped his potential at Randwick.

While Terravista took care of a star-studded field in the Group One Darley Classic at Flemington, his Joe Pride-trained stablemate Ball Of Muscle built his record to five wins from seven starts.

With a different racing style from his half-brother, Ball Of Muscle ($2.70) jumped straight to the front in the 1000m Benchmark 85 and took the lead easily from Floral Insight ($21).

He held his rival to the end by a margin of 1-3/4 lengths with QFighter ($7) another long head third.

Ball Of Muscle’s jockey Glyn Schofield said the gelding simply had superior speed early.

“The kid (James Innes) on Floral Insight came out beside me. If I couldn’t beat him I was going to sit three wide,” Schofield said.

“There would have been no problem because the wind is coming straight across and I’d get a nice cover from the wind.

“But he was just having none of it. He came out like an exocet missile with his head on his chest, eased himself up and away he went.”

With Pride in Melbourne to oversee Terravista, his racing manager Gabrielle Englebrecht was on hand to welcome Ball Of Muscle.

“It won’t be long till he’s racing at stakes level,” she said.

“The way he’s winning he’s going to get through his grades really quickly.

“He was first-up so he was a bit fresh but he doesn’t necessarily have to lead. He is versatile.”

Ball of Muscle’s Dam, Parfore has now produced three Group One winners – dual Singapore Horse of the Year Super Easy, Terravista and Tiger Tees who is also trained by Pride.

The winner of the 2013 Galaxy, Tiger Tees is by Dubawi, as is Ball Of Muscle, while Terravista is by Captain Rio.
