Peace Force back in The Nivison 2015

There was little between Solicit and Peace Force during the autumn but the stablemates will be separated by hundreds of kilometres when they make their spring returns.

Peace Force heads the 20 entries for Saturday’s Group Three Nivison (1200m) at Randwick while Solicit has been entered for two races on the Caulfield Cup undercard.

Solicit had a long head to spare over Peace Force in the Group Three Darley Crown in May while the positions were reversed when Peace Force claimed the Glenlogan Park Stakes by a short head.

An eye injury kept Peace Force out of the Group One Tatt’s Tiara in Brisbane in which Solicit finished 11th after over-racing.

Trainer Gerald Ryan is more than happy with the two mares as they begin their campaigns.

“It took a while for Peace Force to get over the eye problem so she was late coming back in,” Ryan said.

“That means she won’t be ready for the Myer Classic in Melbourne so all being well, we are looking at the 1400 metre race for mares on Cup day.

“Then we will probably freshen her up for the Villiers or the Magic Millions.

“I was pleased with her barrier trial and she looks extremely well so she goes to the races on Saturday in good order with Tye Angland to ride.”

Solicit has been entered for the Moonga Stakes and the Tristarc which is restricted to mares, both over 1400 metres.

“I’m favouring the mares’ race for her,” Ryan said.

“She is very bright and well and Brenton Avdulla rides her at Caulfield.”

Solicit has won two barrier trials in preparation for her trip to Melbourne where she was formerly trained by Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra.

Owner David Moodie sent her to Ryan early this year hoping a change of scenery would spark a return to winning form and she has thrived, spending much of her time in the rural surrounds of Ryan’s satellite stable at Hawkesbury.

Solicit ran fourth in the Myer Classic (1600m) last year and her other Group One performances include a third to Kirramosa in the 2013 VRC Oaks and second to Lucia Valentina in the 2014 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m).
