Champion sprinter Lankan Rupee is odds on for tomorrow’s Moonee Valley assignment and also Horse of The Year honours.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au has the five-year-old at $1.30 to win the McEwen Stakes and $1.33 to be voted Australia’s champion racehorse, with Fiorente ($4.00) the second pick.
Sportsbet has the five-year-old at $1.30 to win the McEwen but in a separate market, the world’s highest rated sprinter is paying $1.80 to win by two lengths or more.
“Lankan Rupee is regarded as one of the world’s best sprinters so he should be over the line for Racehorse Of The Year. Tomorrow’s race also looks made to order and the Rupee should have too much class,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
Lankan Rupee has been a little easy in betting and Unpretentious ($13 into $11) has had support along with roughie It Is Written, backed from $126 into $67.
