Exciting two-year-old colt Nostradamus has shortened from $17 into $7.50 at Sportingbet for next month’s Sportingbet Blue Diamond Stakes following an impressive debut win in the Nursery Plate at Flemington.

Nostradamus attracted a number of five-figure bets to win on debut, including one of $60,000, and was heavily backed from $2 earlier in the week into a starting price of $1.45 at Sportingbet.
“We also copped two four-figure bets at the $17 for him to win the Blue Diamond in the hours before his debut,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“It was a super impressive win and he looks like he’ll relish the 1200m of the Blue Diamond,” Brown said.
Meanwhile, the Robbie Laing-trained Boomwaa remains a $20 shot for the Sportingbet Blue Diamond after finishing second behind Peggy Jean in the Inglis Classic at Randwick.
