No photo finish for Black Caviar in Lightning Stakes 2013

Technology will not be required to declare Black Caviar the Lightning Stakes winner on Saturday according to online bookmaker sportsbet.

A photo finish was needed when the champion mare scraped home at Royal Ascot, but $6.00 is her odds to win the Flemington sprint in a dead-heat to 1.9 lengths.

“She fell in by a nose at Ascot and that was the first time, in her unbeaten 22 start career, that a photo finish was needed. The only photos she will be in at Flemington will be from the massive crowd that will be there to cheer her on,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Shaun Anderson.

The favoured winning margin for Black Caviar is between 4.0 and 5.9 lengths ($2.70) and she is $3.50 to win by six lengths or more.

Black Caviar is, as usual, also favourite to win the Group 1 at $1.05 with Shamexpress and Moment Of Change next in betting on $15.
