Mongolian Khan out of 2015 Melbourne Cup Field

Mongolian Khan has been officially taken out of the Melbourne Cup because of a colic attack.

A dominant winner of the Caulfield Cup, the Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman-trained four-year-old was found to be showing signs of colic on Thursday morning.

He was one of the favoured runners for Tuesday’s Melbourne Cup at Flemington with Japanese horse Fame Game, who finished sixth at Caulfield, dominating the market.

English horses Sky Hunter and Quest For More have feet issues and will have to pass veterinary inspections before the 24-horse field is declared on Saturday.
