News:
Connections of The Seductress would have loved to have had the filly at the Gold Coast for the Magic Millions Classic, but they were more than happy to settle for a consolation win at Caulfield.
The Seductress is a Magic Millions sales graduate, but a lack of prize money dashed hopes of getting a start in the Saturday’s $2 million race.
Instead she backed up her Bendigo maiden win last month with a city victory in Saturday’s Louise Chapple Plate (1000m).
“We’ve always had an opinion of her. She’s a Magic Millions horse and it would have been nice to have her at the Coast today,” Jason Warren’s assistant trainer Adrian McGregor said.
“But we’re pretty happy with the win today.”
Warren, who is at the Gold Coast for the yearling sales, said in the lead-up to the Caulfield race that a setback after the filly’s debut in October put her behind for a Magic Millions preparation.
The Group Three Blue Diamond Preview for fillies later this month is in the trainer’s sights.
The Seductress ($8.50), ridden by Jye McNeil, had the most race experience in the 10-horse field and showed her professionalism in racing to a three-quarter length win over debutante Tokelau ($9) with a neck to China Dream ($9) in third.
“She’s very genuine, well educated and does everything right,” McGregor said.
