Joseph O’Brien will officially launch his training career with seven runners at two meetings in Ireland.
The dual Irish champion jockey who battled weight issues throughout his riding career, will saddle four on Gowran Park’s Flat card and has three jumpers at Listowel on Monday (Tuesday AEST).
A son of multiple champion Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien, the 23-year-old received his licence on Friday after spending time supervising part of his father’s huge team.
Joseph’s brother Donnacha will ride three of his runners at Gowran Park with his sister Ana on the other.
