Mouro no doubt disappointed backers last start in the Ajax Stakes when running seventh of nine close to three weeks ago but he has kept a few supporters with his odds shortening from $101 into $81 in betting with Sportsbet
Mouro $101? That is madness.

@paynemorgan Backed Mouro after first up win, the 100s available now is ludicrous, last start didn’t handle hard track. Sneaky each way hope

Last start in the Ajax Stakes the Tony McEvoy trained galloper did a lot wrong when over racing for a majority of the race on speed and was probably entitled to fade in the finish. You can view the last 400m of the race here which is won by Doncaster favourite Messene:
Last 400m of the Ajax Stakes at 3:07 mark.
On Saturday he has drawn perhaps the best barrier in the race (5) which will give him every opportunity in the race and he should be able to settle and finish.
Mouro was impressive winning first up this preparation at Flemington in the Group 3 TAB Rewards Stakes where he beat a decent field quite comprehensively and he is likely to show a lot of improvement from his first start in Sydney since running second in the Scone Cup last year.
Despite shortening with Sportsbet three other bookies have the $101 still available, view the Doncaster Mile odds comparison
