Group One winners to trial at Randwick

Cox Plate winner Winx headlines a talent-laden barrier trial session at Randwick featuring some of Sydney’s highest-profile horses.

The mare will line up in an 830m heat which also contains Chris Waller-trained stablemates Boban, Royal Descent and Amicus.

Thousand Guineas winner Stay With Me ramps up her Sydney autumn carnival preparations in Friday’s heat ahead of her scheduled return in the Light Fingers Stakes next month.

The trial has also been earmarked as a stepping stone for Australian Oaks winner Gust Of Wind who has not raced since her eye-catching sixth in the Melbourne Cup.

First Seal, who was ruled out of the spring carnival with a hoof issue, will also make her first public appearance of the year at the trials.

Godolphin will continue the carnival build-up of several of its stars at Randwick with Hartnell and Crystal Mile placegetter Bow Creek entered for separate heats.

Kiss And Make Up, the first horse Gai Waterhouse has trained for John Singleton since their public spat almost three years ago, will step out over 1050m in a two-year-old open trial.

The trial session comes on the eve of the Expressway Stakes meeting at Rosehill, the unofficial start of the Sydney autumn carnival.
