Graduate record makes Arrowfield unmissable

Six Golden Slipper winners are only part of the record that each year attracts new and returning buyers to the Big Barn at the Inglis Easter Sale.

Forensics (2007), Miss Finland (2006), Belle du Jour (2000), Catbird (1999), Flying Spur (1995) & Danzero (1994) were all bred and/or sold by Arrowfield Stud.

So were 2007 Horse of the Year Weekend Hussler and Group 1 winners Fashions Afield, Inspiration, Mentality, Reaan, Master of Design and Alverta.

There’s no shortage of current stars either. The posters decorating Arrowfield’s Easter marquee this year feature Snitzerland (VRC Lightning S. G1), Sweet Idea (ATC Light Fingers S. G2; 2nd, Coolmore Classic G1) and Oakleigh Girl (VRC Ottawa S. G3).

The Golden Slipper figures in the careers of all three fillies. Snitzerland was runner-up to Pierro in 2012, Sweet Idea was third to Overreach in 2013 and Oakleigh Girl will jump from barrier 10 in the 2014 Slipper this Saturday.

Oakleigh Girl, her fellow 2YO stakeswinners Gold Force, Majmu, Moonlight Hussler & Time For War, and stakes-placed Aerobar, Donelle, Geromayo & Ygritte were all bred and sold by Arrowfield. (Moonlight Hussler was offered by Glenelg Stud as agent at the Magic Millions Adelaide Sale).

With a total of 16 winners, including promising city performers like Bachman, Hold Your Tongue, Hijack Hussy, Statton & Ygritte already emerging from Arrowfield’s current 2YO graduates, the list of black type horses is sure to grow over the next few seasons.

Active bearers of Arrowfield’s famous jockey cap & diamonds brand also include Group winner Not Listenin’tome, multiple Singapore Group winner Stepitup and stakeswinners Amorino and Road Trippin’.

All of which makes the 30 Arrowfield yearlings housed in the Big Barn at the 2014 edition of the Inglis Easter Sale essential viewing for buyers.
