2016 Australia Day Cup and Parramatta Cup for Waller runners

Missing the Gosford Gold Cup will have little impact on the summer preparations of Loophole and Dance Of Heroes with the stablemates to face off at Randwick.

Trainer Chris Waller did not accept with Loophole and scratched Dance Of Heroes from the Listed race last Friday, believing they were unsuited by the weight scale.

The will instead run over 2000m in the Australian Horse Federation Handicap en route to future stakes races.

“There are plenty of Listed level races coming up for them like the Australia Day Cup and the Parramatta Cup,” Waller said.

“They will get their chances to win one.

“The weights at Gosford were compressed and that didn’t suit them.

“They are both well and only raced two weeks ago so they are fit but if it gets too wet, Dance Of Heroes may not run.

“I do think Loophole will again be hard to beat.”

While neither will reach the heights of the many Group winners in the Waller stable, Dance Of Heroes has earned his owners almost $200,000 while Loophole is closing in on $350,000.

“They are the types of horses that give owners a lot of pleasure,” Waller said.

Loophole won over 2000m carrying 60.5kg at Rosehill on January 2 with Dance Of Heroes (58.5kg) third.

This time around, Loophole drops to 59kg but will again be topweight with the scratching of the Kurt Goldman-trained Faust while Dance Of Heroes has 55kg.

Tye Angland sticks with Loophole while James McDonald rides Dance Of Heroes.

Tommy Berry has the ride on Wine `N’ Dine who is scheduled to back up from his unplaced effort over 1900m at Canterbury on Wednesday.
