Unbeaten filly and long-time favourite Earthquake continues to drift in betting for Saturday’s Golden Slipper, easing from $2.30 to $2.60 at leading online bookmaker Sportingbet.com.au.
It is the longest odds Earthquake has been since March 22, when $2.70 was on offer at Sportingbet.com.au before the Darley horse won the Reisling Stakes.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained Valentia has emerged as the best backed runner with punters slashing the colt’s odds from $41 into $19 at Sportingbet.com.au since Sunday.
“We’ve taken one bet of $6,000 each-way and a mountain of others for Valentia and he’s by far our worst result at the moment,”Sportingbet.com.au’s Andrew Brown said.
“Support for Earthquake has completely dried up and if this trend continues she could reach $3 on Saturday.”
Other notable runners to attract support include second favourite Mossfun ($6 into $5), Bring Me The Maid ($15 into $12) and Alpha Miss ($31 into $26).
