Star filly First Seal will chase her second Group One win in as many weeks when she takes on the males in Saturday’s Spring Champion Stakes at Randwick.

The John Thompson-trained three-year-old is among a final field of nine for the 2000-metre feature which also includes unbeaten Godolphin colt Sweynesse.

The pair has drawn alongside one another with Sweynesse in gate three and First Seal immediately to his outside.

A dominant winner of the Group One Flight Stakes last Saturday, First Seal is one of two fillies in Saturday’s race along with Press Report who has drawn the rails.

Panzer Division, who drops back to his own age after a solid fifth against older horses in the George Main Stakes, has the outside barrier while the Gai Waterhouse duo of Valentia and Hampton Court have gates five and seven respectively.
