News:
Sydney jockeys Hugh Bowman and Tommy Berry have both enjoyed success in Japan where they are riding on short-term contracts.
Berry rode a double on Sunday at Tokyo Racecourse, winning one race on dirt and the other on turf.
Bowman steered Tosen Reve to win a 2000m-handicap at Kyoto on Saturday.
Tosen Reve is trained by Yasutoshi Ikee who visited Sydney earlier this year with Tosen Stardom who ran second in the Group One Ranvet Stakes with Berry aboard.
Bowman was out of the money on Real Impact in Sunday’s Group One Mile Championship won by Maurice who was ridden by Ryan Moore.
Real Impact, who is trained by Noryuki Hori, won the George Ryder Stakes during the Sydney autumn and finished second in the Doncaster Mile.
Berry, who also rode a double last weekend, will partner the Ed Dunlop-trained Caulfield Cup runner-up Trip To Paris in the Japan Cup on Sunday.
