Fell Swoop’s odds shorten to win Manikato Stakes 2016

Fell Swoop

Chautauqua may be regarded as the best sprinter in the world, but the punters at Sportsbet.com.au aren’t so sure about that as he has been a drifter in early betting for the Manikato Stakes (1200m) on Friday night at Moonee Valley.

The champion grey resumed in the Moir (1000m) and was just run off his legs when running fourth to star three year old Extreme Choice. 1200m is perfect for him, but gate one is the worry, and I think that is the case for punters also. He opened $2.25 after the barrier draw and has eased to $2.50, with punters looking for value.

Chautauqua holds the most money in the race but it has been Fell Swoop who punters have come for at a price which has seen his odds shorten from $13 into $10.

Buffering is the other value runner for punters. He opened $12 and has trimmed up slightly to $11. Newmarket winner The Quarterback has been supported ($17-$15).
