News:

The Chris Waller-trained Boban has drawn the rails in his bid for back-to-back Epsom Handicap victories.

Boban is one of four runners for Waller with Royal Descent drawing out in gate 11, one outside stablemate He’s Your Man.

Royal Descent has been made the $4.60 favourite with three horses – Boban, Toydini and He’s Your Man – sharing the second line of betting at $6.

The Anthony Cummings-trained Spy Decoder will start from the outside barrier with a field of 15 declared for the $500,000 Group One, one of the premier mile races in Australia, at Randwick on Saturday.

The race will be run without Rock Sturdy, the pre-post favourite who was withdrawn before acceptance time because of a suspensory injury.

Rock Sturdy was promoted to the top of betting after winning the Shannon Stakes and in his absence trainer Joe Pride will run comeback galloper Laser Hawk for the same connections.

Laser Hawk has drawn barrier 12.

Hawkes Racing’s two runners Toydini and Ninth Legion have drawn next to each other in gates eight and nine respectively.

Sixteen stayers have accepted for the Group One Metropolitan with weights raised 3.5kg for Junoob and Bagman to share the 58kg topweight.

Nine three-year-old fillies will line up in the Group One Flight Stakes, headed by Winx and First Seal.
