News:

Group One-winning colt Exosphere has been retired and will join the stallion roster at Darley Stud.

Exosphere was found to be lame after the TJ Smith Stakes and Godolphin scrapped plans to run him in Saturday’s All Aged Stakes.

The winner of five of his 10 starts including the Golden Rose last spring, Exosphere has been unplaced in three starts since he won the Group Two Roman Consul Stakes in October.

“Exosphere retires with an extraordinary race record. Because of his unusual size and bulk, he had training issues, but he managed to put together a string of outstanding performances,” Godolphin’s managing director, Henry Plumptre, said.

“He is an exciting stallion of the future.”

Exosphere will stand at Darley’s Kelvinside property in the NSW Hunter Valley farm in the spring.
