Tips:

Rich Enuff i thought was very good last start at Felmington and the times he ran backed that up. He hit the line really well and he looks a type who will continue to improve. Looks Like The Cat is the danger runner in the race with a very good first up run in Melbourne and the money says he will be hard to beat.

Caulfield News:

Trainer Ken Keys has already knocked back substantial offers for Rich Enuff and the colt has repaid his connections’ faith with a Group Two win in the Danehill Stakes at Flemington.

Keys has never won a Group One race and believes Rich Enuff could be the best horse he has trained.

The colt backed up his dominant Mitchell McKenzie Stakes win with an impressive long-head victory in Saturday’s Group Two Danehill (1200m) at Flemington.

Keys said he had not been tempted by offers.

“I love doing this too much. And I’ve never won a Group One,” Keys said.

“I guess he obviously has genuine stallion potential now. I think there’s no doubt about that.

“I’m sure he’ll create his own interest.”

Keys is keen to give the colt his chance at 1600m in the Caulfield Guineas and is likely to head to the Caulfield Guineas Prelude next.

“I think he’s a natural miler. So we’ll find out,” Keys said.

Rich Enuff ($6) sat close to the speed in the Danehill and kicked strongly at the business end of the race to defeat the resuming Group One placegetter Looks Like The Cat ($10) with three-quarters of a length to Ghibellines ($31) third.

Group One winner Go Indy Go was eased out of the race and finished last.

Michael Rodd won Danehill Stakes on Charlie Boy last year and made it back-to-back wins with his first ride on Rich Enuff.

“There’s a really good engine there and he’s very exciting,” Rodd said of Rich Enuff.

Rodd is unsure whether Rich Enuff’s brilliance will stretch to the mile of the Guineas.
