Lightly-raced filly More Radiant and imported stayer Araldo are two of the horses Glen Boss expects can make an impact during the upcoming spring carnival.

Boss rode both this season and pinpointed the pair as horses he is looking forward to reuniting with in the spring.

“The main one I’m interested to see when she comes back is More Radiant,” Boss said.

“I’ve got a massive opinion of her. She’s pretty good.”

The Mick Price-trained More Radiant had two autumn starts during her juvenile season, finishing a close third on debut at Flemington behind subsequent Golden Slipper placegetter Bring Me The Maid.

She then headed to Sydney where she ran well for fourth in the Reisling Stakes.

Blue Diamond winner Earthquake won the Reisling from Mossfun before the latter turned the tables in the Golden Slipper.

“What she did last preparation was amazing considering where she was in her racing life,” Boss said of More Radiant who he believes is top-class.

“Her run in Sydney was quite unbelievable. That was behind Earthquake. She had a bad barrier, went back and made an unbelievable charging run to the line.”

The Mike Moroney-trained Araldo, winner of the Listed Bart Cummings (2520m) last spring on protest over Sea Moon, has not raced since finishing third in the Lexus Stakes when he hung in down the straight.

He was later found to have a fractured vertebra.

Boss believes the German import has a good race win in him having had the time to get over his back issue.

“He’s over that now and I really like this horse,” Boss said.

“What level he’ll get to, I’m not sure because we haven’t seen the best of him. So he’s a horse I’m looking forward to getting back on because in the staying races, he’s going to win a good race.”
