Park holds Meijer Classic lead

Inbee Park fired a three-under 68 on Saturday as she maintained a one-shot lead heading into the final round of the LPGA Tour’s Meijer Classic.

Four-time major champ Park finished 54 holes at 13 under and leads South Korea compatriot Lee Mi-Rim at the Blythefield Country Club course in Michigan.

“Today was a little bit windier than the other two days,” Park said.

“I was able to hole a couple of long putts, so I was able to go a little bit lower today.

Park is a 10-time winner on USLPGA Tour after hoisting the trophy at the Manulife Financial Classic in June.

Rookie Lee is in sole possession of second place at 12-under 201 following her third-round 67.

She is looking to win her first event on the Tour.

Park says she is pleased with the new putter she has in her bag.

“I think it is something just really different and something really new to my eyes,” Park said.

“I just wanted to put this putter in before I go to major next week and kind of see what it’s like.

“It seems like it’s going really on line, and I feel like I’m stroking the ball a little bit better this week.”

Katherine Kirk is the best-placed Australian at three under in a tie for 18th.
