Ko in contention for hat-trick of titles

World No.1 Lydia Ko is in striking distance of a third title in a row after firing a five-under 67 at the LPGA event in Singapore.

After 54 holes of the HSBC Women’s Champions tournament, the 17-year-old New Zealander is tied for second, two shots behind South Korean leader Inbee Park.

World No.2 Park carded a 68 to go to 13-under ahead of the final round at the Sentosa Golf Club.

Ko racked up five birdies in a blemish-free third round, her score being the equal lowest of the day.

It was matched by American Stacy Lewis, who joined Ko at 11-under.

The pair have a two-shot advantage over a group of three players tied for fourth.

Ko, who earlier this year became the youngest golfer, male or female, to top the rankings, has won the Australian Open and the New Zealand Open over the past two weekends.
