Artis in lead at Ladies Masters golf

Australia’s Rebecca Artis holds a narrow one-shot lead midway through the third round of the Australian Ladies Masters.

On a day where scoring is proving tough at Royal Pines, NSW golfer Artis is hanging on to top spot despite going two-over-par in the front nine holes of Saturday’s round.

The 26-year-old made birdie on the par-4 ninth after three consecutive bogeys to regain the outright lead from England’s Charley Hull, at seven under overall.

Hull, the 18-year-old tournament favourite, is even-par after a mixed front nine, which started with a double bogey on the par-4 first before birdies on the second and seventh kept her at her overnight score of six under.

Just two players to have completed rounds so far on Saturday have gone under par, with Norway’s Tonje Daffinrud the only player on course with a sub-par score to date.

Daffinrud is two under through 10 holes to be one shot off third-placed Korean Eun Woo Choi in a tie for fourth alongside England’s Holly Clyburn at four under.

Choi, the first-round leader, is in third place at five-under-par and is one over for the day.
