Adam Scott to become a father

Golf superstar Adam Scott will soon be a dad for the first time.

Scott has revealed his wife, Marie Kojzar, is due to give birth in February.

The revelation came after Australia’s 2013 Masters champion – who married the Swedish architect in a private ceremony in their Bahamas backyard in April – was asked about one day becoming a father.

“I’m going to be doing that pretty soon. It’s not far away now. In nine weeks,” the 34-year-old told Australian Golf Digest.

Scott is currently contesting the Australian PGA Championship in his home city of the Gold Coast and plans to remain in Australia for the birth before returning to the US PGA Tour in February.

“We’re not going to be in one place very long at the moment so it’s going to be a travelling baby and have to do with a makeshift bed for the time being but I’m pretty sure it won’t know the difference.

“Fortunately I’ve paid attention to all the guys trying to figure out how to raise their kids (on tour).

“I’m sure there are no secrets and you learn as you go along but I might have to ask for some nappy-changing advice.”

The world No.3 said he was “probably surprised more than anything” when he learned of his wife’s pregancy.

“Nothing was really planned but of course (I’m) incredibly excited,” Scott said.

“It’s got to that point in life and it will be a new challenge and hopefully a lot of fun.”
