WA win toss and bat against Vic in Shield

International Cameron White has been left out of Victoria’s XI to play Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield final.

The Warriors on Saturday won the toss and elected to bat in the five-day fixture at Bellerive Oval, with Chris Rogers and Rob Quiney to open.

After being overlooked for the Bushrangers’ previous two matches, White was this week named in the squad for Hobart, with expectations he could appear in the top order.

But the teams’ batting lineup lists him at No.14.

Fast bowler James Pattinson returns from a hamstring strain for the Victorians, with Jon Holland named as 12th man.

David Moody will carry the drinks for West Australia.

Victoria are favourites going into the final and can win with a draw, while WA need outright victory to take home the Shield.

Victoria: Chris Rogers, Rob Quiney, Matthew Wade (capt), Fawad Ahmed, Scott Boland, Dan Christian, Peter Handscomb, David Hussey, Peter Siddle, Marcus Stoinis, James Pattinson, Jon Holland (12th man).

Western Australia: Cameron Bancroft, Marcus Harris, Michael Klinger, Adam Voges (capt), Shaun Marsh, Sam Whiteman, Ashton Agar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Nathan Rimmington, Andrew Tye, Simon Mackin, David Moody (12th man).
