Victoria line up with Test quick Pattinson

Australian Test spearhead James Pattinson and veteran batsman David Hussey have been named for Victoria against Queensland for the first Sheffield Shield match to be held in Alice Springs.

Pattinson missed the Vics last match as part of his injury rehabilitation, while Hussey plays his first Shield match since November having suffered a broken bone in his hand during the Big Bash League.

Australia limited-overs international batsman Cameron White is a surprise omission from the side, with paceman Chris Tremain also omitted.

Queensland, who have named an unchanged side from that which defeated Tasmania by an innings last week, won the toss and elected to bat first amid excellent conditions at Traeger Park.

The match could have a crucial outcome on the Shield ladder with the winner likely to move into second spot, dependant on the result between top pair NSW and Western Australia.

Victoria: Rob Quiney, Chris Rogers, Marcus Stoinis, David Hussey, Peter Handscomb, Matthew Wade, Dan Christian, Peter Siddle, James Pattinson, Jon Holland, Fawad Ahmed, Cameron White (12th man).

Queensland: Charlie Hemphrey, Joe Burns, Peter Forrest, Chris Lynn, Michael Phillipson, Chris Hartley, James Hopes, Simon Milenko, Cameron Boyce, Peter George, Mark Steketee, Jason Flores (12th man).
