Test great Ricky Ponting is unbeaten on 46 with Tasmania reaching 2-124 in their second innings at lunch on the final day of their Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria at the MCG.

The visitors hold an overall advantage of 243 with eight wickets in hand and will be considering a declaration in the post-lunch session to set competition leaders Victoria a victory target.
