Preview:

The Melbourne Stars are the inform team of the competition while the Sydney Thunder continue the search for their first win in two seasons which is an unbelievable record they want to stop immediately. The Thunder are boosted by the arrival of Tillakaratne Dilshan who will help resolve the batting issue they are having. Lasith Malinga made his Big Bash arrival in the Stars’ last match and didn’t see the game alight but he will have a huge job of containing his fellow countryman. The Thunder will need to play out of their skin and need a few performances like Hussey’s last match to snap this losing streak against a team like the Stars.Tillakaratne Dilshan vs Lasith Malinga

Tillakaratne Dilshan will join Lasith Malinga in the Big Bash which should be a fantastic contest between the two Sri Lankan Internationals. Malinga played in the Stars’ last fixture and only bowled two overs for 15 runs with no wickets whereas Dilshan will play his first match tomorrow. Dilshan had a mediocre tour of Pakistan where he had scores of 7, 48, 30, 40, 59, 8 and 45 which implies that Dilshan found a lot of starts but couldn’t go on with it. Dilshan is a massive coup for the Thunder but their batting struggles from the past two seasons have continued this year with David Warner and Usman Khawaja unavailable, Michael Hussey the only one scoring runs and Eoin Morgan failing to make an impact.
