Sri Lanka set 270 to win 3rd Pakistan Test

Sri Lanka were given a target of 270 runs in a minimum of 71 overs to win the third and final Test against Pakistan in Pallekele on Thursday.

Pakistan, who resumed their second innings at 8-299, batted until 30 minutes before lunch on the fifth day when skipper Misbah-ul Haq declared at 8-380 as soon as Asad Shafiq completed his century to walk off 100 not out.

Earlier, Azhar Ali scored his second century in as many tests before being dismissed for 136.

For Sri Lanka, Rangana Herath finished with 4-99, while Dilhara Fernando took 3-74.

The tourists are seeking a series-levelling win after Sri Lanka won the first Test in Galle by 209 runs and the rain-hit second Test in Colombo was drawn.
