Smith betters Bradman against India

Steve Smith eclipsed one of Sir Donald Bradman’s longest standing records against India on day four of the fourth Test at the SCG.

Smith’s incredible summer with the bat continued on Friday as he moved past Bradman’s record for most runs in a series against India.

Australian captain Smith scored his 19th run of the home side’s second innings, as he cut Umesh Yadav to the backward point boundary for four in the 12th over, shortly after tea.

That shot took him to 717 runs for this summer’s four Test series, ahead of Bradman’s record of 715 against India in 1947-48.
