Scorchers to bat first against Strikers

The Perth Scorchers have won the toss and elected to bat in their Twenty20 Big Bash League clash with the Adelaide Strikers at the WACA Ground.

Hilton Cartwright has been named 12th man for the Scorchers, while Hamish Kingston will carry the drinks for the Strikers.

The Scorchers will be without star spinner Brad Hogg, who withdrew due to hamstring tightness.

Adelaide enters the match full of confidence following their eight-wicket win over the Melbourne Stars.

Opener Tim Ludeman cracked an unbeaten 92 off 44 balls in that match, including his half-century off just 18 balls.
