SA declare at 7-431 against Vics in Shield

South Australia have declared their first innings at 7-431 against Victoria on day two of the Sheffield Shield match in Adelaide.

The Redbacks called a halt to their innings some 20 minutes before Monday’s lunch break.

Callum Ferguson top-scored with 140 and Tim Ludeman made 106, the pair putting on 208 runs for the fifth wicket.

But both fell quickly on Monday, with Ludeman trapped lbw by Chris Tremain and Ferguson bowled by Peter Siddle.

Test quick Siddle took 2-54 from 23 overs with Tremain (2-81) and spinner Jon Holland (2-92) other multiple wicket-takers.

After the centurions were outed, Redbacks captain Johan Botha (40 not out), Joe Mennie (36) and Adam Zampa (33 from 12 balls) went on a quest for rapid runs – SA scored 127 runs in 100 minutes in the morning session.
