Pakistan-Sri Lanka Test evenly balanced

Pakistan, replying to Sri Lanka’s 320, were 3-126 in their first innings at tea on Friday’s second day of the second Test in Colombo.

Younis Khan was unbeaten on 10 and skipper Misbah-ul Haq had yet to score.

Opener Ahmed Shehzad made 58 before being caught off Dilruwan Perera’s bowling. Shehzad anchored the innings, but his dismissal just before tea turned the tide in Sri Lanka’s favour with the tourists at 3-122.

Fellow spinner Rangana Herath struck first to have Khurram Manzoor caught for 23 (1-47), before removing Azhar Ali in the same fashion for 32 (2-110).

Sri Lanka were dismissed, 45 minutes before lunch, after their last two wickets added 59 runs to the overnight score of 8-261.

No.11 batsman Chanaka Welegedara returned unbeaten on 27.

Opener Upul Tharanga top-scored for Sri Lanka with 92.

Left-arm seamers Junaid Khan (5-87) and Wahab Riaz (3-88) shared eight wickets, Khan grabbing the fifth five-wicket haul of his career.

Sri Lanka lead 1-0 in the two-match series after winning the first Test in Galle by seven wickets.
