NSW skipper Henriques out of shield match

New South Wales have lost captain Moises Henriques to a groin injury for their must-win Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania in Sydney.

Middle-order batsman Ben Rohrer has replaced Henriques with in-form wicketkeeper-batsman Peter Nevill taking over the captaincy duties.

Tasmania won the toss and opted to bat in dry and clear conditions at Bankstown Oval.

Tasmania omitted veteran quick Ben Hilfenhaus from their squad in favour of spinner Clive Rose, who returns after missing the past two matches with a broken finger.

A win in the penultimate round match would keep third-placed NSW in touch with frontrunners Western Australia and Victoria.

NSW: Ryan Carters, Scott Henry, Kurtis Patterson, Nic Maddinson, Ben Rohrer, Peter Nevill, Sean Abbott, Steve O’Keefe, Nathan Lyon, Gurinder Sandhu, Doug Bollinger, Josh Lalor (12th man)

Tasmania: Dom Michael, Ed Cowan, Jordan Silk, Beau Webster, Alex Doolan, Ben Dunk, Tim Paine, Clive Rose, Sam Rainbird, Andrew Fekete, Jackson Bird, Evan Gulbis (12th man)
