Injured Coyte out of Aust women ODI series

A muscular strain has sidelined Southern Stars allrounder Sarah Coyte for Australia’s one-day international cricket series against the West Indies.

The 23-year-old suffered the strain while bowling her final over during Friday’s third Twenty20 clash with the West Indies.

Subsequent scans confirmed the injury, sidelining Coyte for the ODI series.

“It’s disappointing that I won’t be able to see the series through,” the Camden-born player said.

“I felt like I was in good form with the ball and was very proud to be a part of such a convincing series win over the West Indies.”

Coyte will start skills training in about a month.

Meanwhile, her teammates will be out to replicate their 4-0 T20 whitewash of the West Indies when they take to Sydney’s Hurstville Oval on Tuesday for the first ODI match.
