India routed for 153 at Gabba

A five-wicket haul by England quick Steven Finn has reduced India to just 153 all out in their crunch one-day international at the `Gabba on Tuesday.

At one stage Finn (5-33) was on a hat-trick as India lost 4-10 then 3-6 after winning the toss and opting to bat on a two-paced Brisbane deck.

James Anderson – who replaced Chris Jordan (illness) – was just as dangerous, snaring 4-18 in nine overs to ensure India were routed by the 40th over.

When Anderson bowled tailender Bhuvneshwar Kumar for five he notched wicket 38 against India – a new record in India-England one-day clashes.

Next ball he had Mohammed Shami caught slogging to ensure he will be on a hat-trick in his next one-day clash.

India never got off the ground despite winning the toss.

They did not hit their first boundary until the seventh over and only hit seven overall for the entire innings.

All-rounder Stuart Binny – replacing Ravi Ashwin – top scored with 44 while captain MS Dhoni (34) and opener Ajinkya Rahane (33) also got starts.

India were on the back foot from the outset after losing Rohit Sharma to a hamstring complaint ahead of the match.

Both sides are desperate for a win after losing their opener against hosts Australia in the triangular ODI series.
