Preview:

The Hobart Hurricanes remain unbeaten while the Melbourne Renegades are full of confidence after smashing the Brisbane Heat by 57 runs which included a quickfire half century from captain Aaron Finch. The Hurricanes are also coming off a huge victory against the Heat after they chased down a record 210 with most batsmen contributing to the cause. Xavier Doherty has been named in the Australia limited overs squad and he will have a key task in tying down Aaron Finch who will be full of confidence.

Key Contest:

Xavier Doherty vs Aaron Finch

Xavier Doherty is known for his skill of restricting batsmen more than taking wickets but this is very important in Twenty20 cricket especially when you have the support of wicket takers such as Bollinger and Hilfenhaus. Aaron Finch has been in and out of Australia’s limited overs squad and will miss the end part of this Big Bash with International commitments but the captain will want to ensure his team qualifies for the finals. Doherty did extremely well in Brisbane at restricting batsmen when they were hitting other bowlers all over the ground but will have a tougher task of containing Aaron Finch.
