Aussie women down Pakistan in ODI series

The Australian women’s cricket team have recorded a 37-run win over Pakistan for a cleansweep of their four-match one day international series.

Batting first at Redlands the hosts set a total of 9-220 from their 50 overs, Pakistan bowled out for 183 in the final over in response.

Erin Osborne was named player-of-the-match for her all-round performance which included an innings of 47 not out and two wickets.

Osborne anchored the Australian innings with her highest international score, batting with Delissa Kimmince (42) in a 41-run partnership.

Pakistan captain Sana Mir (3-44) was the pick of the bowlers, snaring three key wickets.

The visitors’ top-order again proved solid with Javeria Khan (54) and Bismah Maroof (26) putting on a 79-run stand and leading the run-scorers for their side.

Both succumbed to Osborne, who finished with figures of 2-25.

Sarah Coyte was in good touch bowling at the death, finishing with figures of 3-32.

Nicole Bolton was named player-of-the-series as the leading run-scorer with 152 runs.

Jess Jonassen’s 10-wicket haul saw her top the list of wicket-takers for the series.
