Bangladesh paceman Al-Amin Hossain has been fined for his unceremonious send off of David Warner in Australia’s streak-snapping victory in Dhaka.

Warner enjoyed comfortably his best knock of the tournament on Tuesday night, scoring 48 and smashing three sixes after underperforming in Australia’s opening three losses.

But his dismissal in the 12th over, with Australia already well within reach of victory at 1-98, brought forth a vociferous reaction from Al-Amin.

The 24-year-old’s celebration saw him follow the volatile Australian opener for part of his angry trudge towards the boundary.

As such, he was fined 15 per cent of his match fee for breaking the ICC Code of Conduct relating to “using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting”.

Al-Amin pleaded guilty to the charge and immediately accepted his punishment after the match.

“Celebrating the fall of a wicket should be done in a manner which is not abusive or disrespectful to the opponent,” match referee Ranjan Madugalle said in a statement.

Explaining Al-Amin’s reaction, Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim said there was no reason other than the excitement of a key wicket.

“No, (there is no) background (between them),” Mushfiqur said.

“I think Dave Warner is a big wicket and he was just happy to get him out.”
