The Los Angeles Lakers has seemingly won the race to sign mutiple All-Star centre Dwight Howard from the Orlando Magic in what is expected to be a blockbuster four-way trade.
According to the likes of ESPN, Yahoo! Sports as well as other numerious media outlets the Lakers are expected to acquire Howard from the Magic within the next 24 hours.
Although the Magic officials have yet to officially confirm the deal it has been widley reported that a deal has been done with only the NBA to approve of the four-way blockbuster trade, also involving the Philadelphia 76ers and Denver Nuggets on Friday.
As part of the four-way trade the 76ers will recieve the Lakers All Star centre in Andrew Bynum as well as Magic shooting guard Jason Richardson.
Philadephia will then off-load their star in Andre Iguodala to the Nuggets, with the Magic reciving Arron Afflalo, Al Harrington, Nikola Vucevic, rookie Moe Harkless as well as three first round draft picks and a 2013 second round pick – courtesy of the Golden State Warriors.
Not only will the Lakers recieve arguably the best big man in the game in Howard but will also recieve Chris Duhon and Earl Clark from the Magic.
It has been widley reported that the Lakers, Magic and 76ers had previously held discussions over a three-way deal but needed a fourth team in order to recieve Iguodala and future draft selections.
Howard who was heavily courted by the Brooklyn Nets has spent his entire NBA career with the Magic but that will all end as expected on Friday when he will join Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol and Steve Nash at the Lakers.
