Tigers beef up squad for AFL match

Richmond have beefed up their squad for Saturday’s AFL pre-season match against reigning premiers Hawthorn.

But the Tigers will be without ruckmen Ty Vickery and Ben Griffiths, who suffered concussion last week in the loss to Fremantle.

Captain Trent Cotchin, Dustin Martin, Jack Riewoldt and Ivan Maric are among an impressive list of ins for the Tigers, who hope Brett Deledio will be ready for their third NAB Challenge match.

The Hawks will field a weaker lineup in Beaconsfield than the team that beat Carlton in their opening pre-season match.

While they regain premiership players Shaun Burgoyne, Cyril Rioli, James Frawley and Liam Shiels, Hawthorn will be without captain Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell, Isaac Smith, Luke Breust and Ben Stratton.

Forward Jack Gunston also is sidelined with a shin injury.

Port Adelaide have recalled a host of big names among 13 inclusions for Saturday’s game at Elizabeth against Melbourne.

Captain Travis Boak, Robbie Gray, Ollie Wines and Chad Wingard will play their first games for the year.

Adelaide fans will have their first look at recruits Troy Menzel and Curtly Hampton in Sunday’s match against Fremantle.

Rory Sloane will return, but the Crows will be without captain Taylor Walker, Eddie Betts and Sam Jacobs for the Mount Barker game in WA.
