Talia back with Swans from August 19

Sydney AFL coach John Longmire says defender Michael Talia’s period away from the club will end on August 19 and he must win back the respect of his teammates after pleading guilty to drug possession.

Talia, who was last month stood down indefinitely from club activities and given a training program to do by himself, was handed a 12-month good behaviour bond at Sydney’s Waverley Local Court last Thursday/

“He’s spoken to the players, he’s stood down until August 19 and then it’s about working to make sure he gets himself in the best possible physical shape he can be,” Longmire said of Talia, who has been sidelined since round one with a foot injury.
