Gold Coast star Jaeger O’Meara has dislocated his right kneecap playing for the Suns’ reserves.
The 21-year-old suffered the injury playing in a NEAFL practice match against the Brisbane Lions reserves team at Coorparoo.
Gold Coast confirmed the injury in a statement released just before their AFL team took the field against Melbourne at the MCG on Saturday.
O’Meara was on the comeback trail after undergoing knee surgery in the off-season to correct ongoing tendonitis issues.
The talented midfielder was stretchered from the field and taken to hospital where he will undergo scans to determine the severity of the damage.
